COMPOSITION:

DESCRIPTION:

Þ    It is an intravenous carbapenem antibiotic used to treat a variety of bacterial infections.

Þ    The spectrum of action includes many gram positive and gram negative bacteria and anaerobic bacteria.

Þ    It kills the bacteria by preventing them from forming the bacterial protective covering (cell wall) which is needed for them to survive.

INDICATIONS:

Þ    Treats skin and abdominal infections caused by bacteria and meningitis in adults and children 3months of age and older.

Þ    Used in severe bacterial infections and prevention of infection after surgery of the colon and rectum.

Þ    Treats infections of skin and soft tissues

Þ    Treats urinary tract infections

Þ    Treats infections in blood, brain and lungs
