COMPOSITION:

Each uncoated bilayer tablet contains:

Acebrophylline (as SR) 200mg

Desloratadine USP 5mg

Montelukast Sodium IP(Eq. to Montelukast) 10mg

Excipients q.s.

DESCRIPTION:

Acebrophyllin modifies mucus secretion by lowering viscosity of ‘gel’ phase, increasing ‘sol’ phase and increases mucociliary clearance by augmenting ciliary motility. It inhibits intracellular phosphodiesterase and facilitates bronchial muscles relaxation by increasing cAMP levels.

Desloratadine blocks one type of receptor for histamine (the H1 receptor) and thus prevents activation of cells by histamine. Unlike most other antihistamines, desloratadine does not enter the brain from the blood and therefore does not cause drowsiness.

Montelukast inhibits leukotriene physiologic effects, such as airway edema, smooth muscle contraction and impairment of normal cellular activity without exhibiting any agonist activity.
