Composition:

Each 5ml after reconstitution contains:

·       Ofloxacin IP 50mg

·       Ornidazole IP 125mg

·       Racecadotril IP 15mg

(In a palatable suspension base)

Þ   Ofloxacin belongs to the class of drugs known as fluoroquinolone antibiotics. It works by killing bacteria or preventing their growth.

Þ   Ornidazole belongs to a class of antibacterial medication called “nitroimidazoles” primarily used to treat infections caused by protozoans and bacteria.

Þ   Racecadotril, also known as acetorphan, is an antidiarrheal medication which acts as a peripheral enkephalinase inhibitor. It reduces the secretion of water and electrolytes from the intestine which decreases the fluid loss during diarrhea.

Indications:

·       Used to treat diarrhea and dysentery due to mixed infections.

·       Prevent irritable bowel syndrome and inflammatory bowel syndrome.

·       Protect from prophylaxis and treatment of postoperative infections.

·       Also used to treat recurrent clostridium difficile infections.
