  • LIQUID PARAFFIN:
    Lubricates bowel and softens the stool. Liquid paraffin used in combination with magnesium is used as an osmotic laxative.
    MILK OF MAGNESIA:
    It reduces the stomach acid and increases water in the intestines which will induce defecation. It is used as a laxative to relieve occasional constipation and as an antacid to relieve indigestion, sour stomach and heartburn.
    SODIUM PICOSULPHATE:
    Stimulates the propulsive activity of the colon, prevents the absorption of water in the colonic lumen and thus promotes accumulation of water. Orally administered sodium picosulphate is generally used for thorough evacuation of the bowel, usually for patients who are preparing to undergo colonscopy.
